Choose one of the following to respond to in the discussion board:

  • Identify two specific events of Taylor’s journey that helped form her identity and strengthened her voice?  Explain how.

  • How is the Taylor at the end of the novel different from the Taylor at the beginning of the novel?  How is she the same?

  • If your name were a color what would it be? Consider your name with the five senses… what does your name smell like? Taste like? Feel like? Sound like?
    Complete the following poem (thoughtfully) using similes, metaphor, hyperbole, and onomatopoeia (etc.):

    My name is the color …
    My name sounds …
    My name smells …
    My name feels …
    My name is (write your name)

    Example:

    My name is the color of a ripe orange hanging gently from the tree.
    My name sounds like the drip of a drop of dew falling off the a leaf of grass …
