What did parents tell their children two thousand years ago when the kids asked "Why the sky doesn't fall like everything else?" Well, in a Roman household, the likely answer would have been "Because great Atlas bears it up on his shoulders, so be sure to thank him for all the hard work he does before you turn out the light, sweetie."

The Greek and Roman myths have provided numerous words including the English word atlas adapted from the myth of Atlas. Let's take a look at more words born out of myth.
