Selection 1: Decoding Media Bias

Assignment: Use this handout from the PBS “Decoding Media Bias” lesson plan to examine three different news sites. Download and complete the chart. To earn a high score, you will need to use some news terminology and quote evidence. Be sure to name: the web page, the article title, and the author. After completing the chart, write the answers to the following questions on your assignment sheet. What do you notice/what stands out to you about the differences? Why do the different news organizations have different stories? Select a political news topic and read the articles on the three different news outlets. What do they all include? How are they different? Be specific and cite evidence.
